Why PnL ranking fails

The leaderboard sorts on the wrong number.

Polymarket's ranking is a record of the past. Copying is a bet on the future. Those are different questions and they need different answers.

Raw PnL rewards luck

A two-month tear in a thin market reads as genius until the next sample. Leaderboards never adjust for variance, so the top is always rotating — and you can’t time it.

Leaderboards ignore farming

A wallet quietly accumulating via iceberg orders or merging YES/NO to exit looks like a steady winner. Copiers become the exit liquidity. PnL says nothing.

Headline numbers aren’t copyable numbers

Copy-bot latency and fees eat 20–40% of the printed edge. The leaderboard shows what the wallet earned. Scout shows what you can realistically capture.
