The Fed decides July 29. Polymarket's Fed traders are collectively up $58k on $122M.

July 24, 2026 · CopyGrade

The Fed's July meeting resolves on Polymarket on July 29, and the market is pricing something 2026 hasn't seen much of: genuine two-way risk. As of our July 24 sync, the Fed Decision in July? event — about $85M across five legs — prices "no change" at ~74¢ and a 25bps hike at ~25¢, with both cut legs under a penny. Whatever the FOMC does, at least a quarter of the implied-probability-weighted money in the most-watched macro market on the platform is about to be wrong.

Which makes this a good week to publish the least flattering board we grade.

The Fed board is nearly zero-sum

Our Fed & rates board tracks every graded wallet with meaningful activity on FOMC and rate markets — 619 wallets under coverage as of July 24. Their combined scoreboard:

Fed & rates board (graded universe, July 24)
Wallets on the board619
Combined volume on Fed/rates markets~$122M
Combined realized profit~$58k
Profitable on Fed/rates markets134 (22%)
Carrying a farming-risk flag411 (66%)
Score 75+ with a clean farming check4

Read the second and third rows together: six hundred graded wallets pushed $122 million through Fed markets and collectively kept $58 thousand — about five basis points of the volume. Before fees and slippage, the covered universe's Fed trading is a rounding error away from zero-sum. Seventy-eight percent of the board shows zero or negative realized profit on the category, and just four wallets clear the bar a copier should demand — a 75+ score with a clean farming check.

That's not a data glitch; it's what a genuinely efficient market looks like from the trader side. An FOMC decision is the single most-analyzed, most-broadcast, least-private event in finance. Every input — the dot plot, the futures curve, the pressers, the leaks that aren't leaks — is public to everyone at the same time. The structural conditions that create copyable edge elsewhere (repeated events with private domain knowledge — a soccer scout's eye, a crypto dev's context) mostly don't exist here. When someone pitches you their Fed record, the base rate says you're looking at variance with a narrative attached.

What 25¢ of hike risk means for a copier

We take no view on what the Fed should or will do — we grade wallets, not policy. But the shape of this market matters for anyone copying a macro-heavy wallet this week:

  1. A 74/25 market settles someone's whole month. Wallets that loaded one side of the decision will print a sharp one-day gain or a sharp one-day loss on July 29 — and either result is one coin flip, not evidence. If a wallet you're vetting looks brilliant on July 30, check where the record was earned before the screenshot convinces you.
  2. Decision markets gap, and copiers eat the gap. FOMC markets reprice in seconds on the statement. A wallet trading the release is filling at prices your bot will never see — the latency haircut in our realistic-edge model is the honest version of that record.
  3. Watch the event, not the feed. The event dossier shows the live legs, the top holders, and which graded wallets have been active in the market — worth a look before the decision, when positioning still means something.

The four wallets

Yes, four wallets on the board clear the high bar — and no, the takeaway is not "copy those four." A clean, high-scoring wallet whose Fed activity is a sliver of a broader record is a candidate for normal vetting like any other; a clean wallet whose record concentrates in coin-flip decision markets is exactly the kind of "sharp" that doesn't survive being copied. The board's job is the denominator: 619 wallets traded the Fed, and the number worth even starting diligence on is four. That ratio — not any single wallet — is the finding.

Caveats, as always: these figures cover the graded universe, not all of Polymarket; realized profit is computed from public trade history against a published methodology; and a farming-risk flag is an algorithmic risk assessment, not an accusation of conduct. Prices quoted are our July 24 sync and will have moved by the time you read this — the live event page has the current ones.
